The Little Mac Iapps Book by John Tollett,

The Little Mac Iapps Book by John Tollett,
The Little Mac Book has taught a generation of readers how to use the Mac and spawned a best-selling series of Little Books that remove the fear from learning by adopting a gentle, non-techie approach to technical topics. It's hard to call a book little, however, when it becomes so thick and chock-full of info that it takes two people to lift it--which is exactly what would have happened if author Robin Williams had tried to fit a detailed discussion of Apple's powerful OS X iApps into her latest edition of The Little Mac Book--called Robin Williams Mac OS X Book, Jaguar Edition. Thus was born this handy companion volume: The Little Mac iApps Book. The Little Mac iApps Book provides detailed coverage of each powerful iApp that Mac OS X installs on your computer: Mail, iCal, iChat, Rendezvous, iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, Preview, and iDVD. Through tips, techniques, and tutorials, best-selling authors John Tollett and Robin Williams teach not just how to use the individual iApps, but how to use them "together" and "interactively." The book also discusses the benefits of setting up a .Mac account--all in the friendly, funny, unintimidating style you've come to expect from this popular series. If you want to tap the power of Mac OS X's iApps--whether you're a beginner or a veteran Mac user--you need this book.

Parenting with Dignity by Mac Bledsoe,
Parenting with Dignity by Mac Bledsoe,
-- ABC's 20/20 is planning a follow-up segment with Mac for the Fall and the Family Channel is planning a series of one-hour documentaries on effective parenting techniques. -- Alpha will be launching a major marketing campaign to drive sales of this title. -- Derived from Mac's successful nine-tape video series and newsletter of the same name. On February 1, 2002, ABC's 20/20 aired a one-hour piece on effective parenting, featuring Mac Bledsoe. Mac isn't the typical kind of guy you see giving parenting advice on national television, . He doesn't have an advanced degree in child psychology and, until now, he didn't have a book to his credit. His expertise comes from 29 years of teaching high school and coaching sports. Over that time, Mac and his wife Barbara developed a parenting curriculum called "Parenting with Dignity" that is aimed at sending parents the following message: Whether we like it or not, our children will make all of the most important decisions in their lives on their own; so, as parents, the only thing we can do is teach them how to make good decisions." In Parenting with Dignity, Mac urges parents to rethink their approach to discipline -- to let kids make some of their own decisions, and experience the consequences early on, so that they can act responsibly when left alone, and become more independent when they grow older. Parenting with Dignity is derived from Mac's successful nine-tape video series and newsletter of the same name. The book will feature a foreword from Drew Bledsoe and will be released in time for a tentatively planned 20/20 follow-up with Mac Bledsoe airing in the fall.
